Going through a fallow period, player wise?
Defence is OK, solid foundations there and in goal but cannot find a striker at all. Idah (Norwich), Connolly (Brighton) and Parrott (Spurs on loan at MK Dons) are what we are pinning our hopes on but they aren’t inspiring confidence so far.

If they even got regular games for their clubs it would be a start.

Christ. I assume, and this is not a dig, that the FAI have scoured the Cascarenos of this generation? It saddens me when what I consider neighbours go through a period like this. That said, Jackie Charlton managed to find a system that Liam Brady didnt fit into.

Your kidding right?

They rejoice at Englands failures, I hope they get beat 12-0 every game, all of them, the scots, the Irish, the fake Irish and mostly those sheep humpers.

Unless they are playing England, no. If they want to be small minded, fine.

Oh yeah, if you are Irish (regardless of where you were born) you will be called up. I have no problem with this at all given how many Irish people had to move over the years for work etc etc. Kilbane is a great example of an Irish upbringing in England.

Grealish and Rice were hammerblows to the production line having both represented Ireland for years underage. Both left for commercial reasons sadly but so be it. International is all about pride in the jersey.

Not all bad though, Obafemi at Southampton and Omibamidele at Norwich are two home grown lads who look promising.

Like many of the folk born in the NW, I could probably lay claim to play for England, Wales, and at a stretch, Ireland/NI.

Luckily, for all concerned, I am cabbage at footie.

Yeah, Liverpool is as Irish as any city on the island itself. Home from home.

Was hopeful a young Scouser Luca Connell would make it for Ireland but career seems to be tailing off.
