I disagree - I think its very simple management. This isn't a case of someone developing novel tactics (like Pep) or improved coaching (like Wenger), its someone who got the latitude from the ownership to have that squad picked on merit rather than the amount paid for someone.

FWIW I think United's improvement under ten Haag is down to much the same thing

The tactics might not be novel but they are very very good and well drilled. If it was easy everyone would do it.
