Also a very pertinent question here: was that initial tackle even a foul?

Don’t worry, VAR has ironed all that inconsistency right out.The whole problem with our refereeing in the league is there is no consistency
Yeah, persistency too - Ziyech flew in for a few of those so in the run of things I'd say it is.Also a very pertinent question here: was that initial tackle even a foul?
OK fair. I just thought he nicked the ballYeah, persistency too - Ziyech flew in for a few of those so in the run of things I'd say it is.
It’s not about what the recipient does, it’s what the aggressor does, or are we deciding fouls on how much they hurt now?If a finger brushes your face and you take 4 steps to think about it before diving it's not violent
It's open for interpretation though, "excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball"Throwing your arm out and connecting with an opponents face is violent conduct.
They’re legitimately the worst crop out of any decent league in the world. Rarely do I watch a Bundesliga or La Liga match and question major decisions. Sure it happens like the City RB Leipzig game last week but it’s rare. In the prem it’s almost every game. I don’t know how they’re allowed to continue in their jobs with the level of incompetence displayed, but no one ever holds them accountable beyond blatant offsides misses because they don’t know how to draw lines apparently. Referees are meant to do a job, not be the focus of the game but they make themselves the focus almost every single game in the prem because they’re crap. These refs need to face criminal charges the way they have been handling some of these matches. Clueless idiots.
OK then send off anyone shoving someone in those types of encounters. I promise that's not what you actually want. Emerson used more force on Ziyech than vice versa. It’s not about what the recipient does, it’s what the aggressor does, or are we deciding fouls on how much they hurt now?
Threw his arm out, attempting to clout him in the gob. It's open for interpretation though, "excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball"
I really don't think a push on the shoulder that clearly slipped up into his face could be considered brutal or particularly excessive really
Think he just about did but you can see he's losing his nerve - probably the best thing for Chelsea is it's half time and they can maybe relax. Spurs running them a bit on the edge and they'll shoot themselves in the foot if they continue like that; lucky the red got rescinded, we've seen more given for less, as you said earlier too.OK fair. I just thought he nicked the ball

All of Europe's VAR reffing is so much better than England, honestly. The World Cup in Qatar was so much better, our officials should be ashamed
