Interesting that Chelsea complained about a foul before Spurs first goal and don't want Taylor to ref their games, and it's all over the football media, with loads of clips.. But last week Sterling feel over against us, and this resulted in them on the attack that led to the pen., but no outcry in the media and definitely no showing of clips of Sterling tumbling to the ground unaided. A week's a long time in football.

Chelsea complaining about corruption when they were bought and funded by the Russian mafia. Otherwise they would still be Fulham-lite.

The standard of officiating is rubbish. Sterling took an awful dive and the ref bought it.

This week the ref missed the clearest of fouls on Havertz.

The media agenda is very different though as you say. And these things don't even themselves out over a season either - that is a myth.

Officials got worse the moment VAR was introduced and they didn’t need to be on their game anymore.

Pulling his hair would have been a freekick at any other time, if they gave the free kick. Game over instead they wanted the corner to keep the momentum going, giving value to the TV deals and TV viewers. That my take

It's theatre...kabuki...see it for what it is and then either engage it on that understanding, or exit the theatre. Me?...I've chosen the latter. Too many bad actors to hold my attention on ay level beyond the superficial ( à la togger forums)

Sutton Utd v Barrow for me tomorrow.

Haven't been on all weekend.

What did you think of Barrow?, We are so much improved from last season. Despite not getting the point (the very least we deserved) there were still so many positives to take from the game. Pete Wild, the Barrow manager was struggling massively to hold in what he truly wanted to say, in his post match interview.

I was talking to my girlfriend about how the media state their own narrative and it bleeds into the perception of the player. All we heard last season was Richarlison goes down too easily, he is a cheat, he feign injury. I said, any money the attention will now be Gordon, looked at my news feed on Sunday morning and viola, an article about Gordon going down too easily.

Now, let's get this straight, he sometimes does and so did Richarlison but you never ever hear or see anything about the top club players, it is always, 'there was contact'. It is just a clear bias. This wouldn't bother me but it does feed into the refs mind, there is no doubt in this. They will more than likely not give a free kick as they will have doubt in their mind and opposition players know this.

Did anyone pick up on Greame Souness saying several times yesterday saying things along the line of "It's a man's game" I got onto it right away, he was definitely trolling, and come in since for abuse haha I actually thought it was funny, he knew what he was doing, he is just on Talk Sport justifying it after getting pulled up.left right and center

Barrow looked a decent outfit. On possession and half chances Sutton were the stronger side in the first half but apart from one 1on1 chance (good stop by the keeper) they created very few chances.
Barrow much the better side in the second half, dominating possession and physically stronger. Sutton goal was freakish. I was at the end that Barrow “equalised”. Everyone around me was mystified as to the reason it was chalked off.

Poor match management from the referees who should've gotten the coaches in line earlier rather than let it boil over - there is precedent for things getting out of hand since Mr. Eyepoker

From my POV, it's poor sportsmanship and shouldn't be lauded - both play a role and neither are strangers to this behavior. Coaches/managers, lead by example and if you act like a clown you will see similar on the pitch. Refs getting a free pass here IMHO, they should've controlled the match better
