People more angry about a national anthem being booed than they are about about a Royal being a paedo sex offender, his mum paying ££ to make it go away

Most headed goals in a season.

2nd in the Premier League to Shearer.

First player to score 100+ home and 100+ away goals in the Premier League.

Just hope he doesn't end up at your neighbours.

Thing is, if Kane stays at Spurs, breaks/cements all sorts of records, maybe get a cup, he will forever be a Spurs legend anyrate. Even if a pot dosent come along. I just cannot see him in a red, nor blue, (Chelsea) shirt. I hope he does personally.

Why shouldn't people be proud of the area and people that shaped them?

Because it’s literally something you have zero control over. Am I fortunate to have been born in the UK as opposed to some war torn, famished village in Africa or an impoverished Eastern European town? Of course. But I can recognise my good fortune without being weirdly proud of it.

And there’s a massive difference between being proud of your local community and subscribing to the overall ideology of the UK. Why would I be proud of a country literally spending millions of taxpayer money on a king’s coronation? In 2023 ffs, the fact we’re even having a discussion about a royal family is insane. Yet people get triggered over a few boos of the anthem.

A murderous empire? The slave trade? The treatment of Ireland? The shameful representation of being born into privilege and superiority?

If history makes you ashamed of the city of your birth, we are on a different page mate.

Why are you “proud” of something you had no control over though? Genuinely don’t mean this in a hostile way, I just don’t get it.
Patriotism I suspect, which may come from the professions I've been part of. I totally appreciate there'll be those who disagree, but each to their own.

If Everton won the league, would you feel proud (of being an Evertonian, the achievement etc.) even though you had no control or input?

Are there any countries on the planet that doesn't have reasons to not be proud of it though? I mean I was personally talking about the scouse proud, not the English proud.

But you do you, it's not for everyone to be proud of where they come from.
