I wouldn't disagree, they are part of the closed club. When you pluck literally any replacement you want and pay them 500k a week on your dodgy sponsorship deals, net spend is nothing to be lauded. In fairness, PSG, Madrid, United, the RS, and Barca have to a degree been more egregious over the last few years. Last few summers City have brought in a net spend which is either negative. The kopites in particular have spent obscene fees across their team
Well they were found innocent by a independent court. Also guilty of what? Exaggerating their sponsorship revenues so they could spend money they actually have to give them a level playing field with the established clubs spending money they don’t have with debt.
It’s all just money, always has been, we used to be the Mersey millionaires, it doesn’t mean a rich team can’t fail but it’s highly unlikely that a team without money can win. Uefa tried to close the door on teams like PSG and City to protect their traditional cartel and City got round it. Boohoo I say.
That’s a fair point, but that said most of the “elite” clubs pay stupid wages. What annoys me is FFP has arguably made football less competitive (not that the money in the sport isn’t disgusting)I wouldn't disagree, they are part of the closed club.
