Honestly, some of the greatest goals ever scored half of them would probably be ruled out now because of var looking for the tiniest problem not to give it, ridiculous.

That Maradona goal in Mexico '86 always looked dodgy to me. How he beats Shilton in the air, don't know what it is, just something off about that goal.

They've gotten further and further away from the 'clear and obvious' thing every season, on top of that they have abysmal decision making in selecting what to review. They spend 5 minutes trying to prove if a offside player made any touch of the ball but dont check a stamp on the shin yesterday?
The system in theory should be fine but the people that make it function are unbearably incompetent.

I can’t get over how much it’s regressed, become more invasive and utterly focused on sucking all joy out of the sport.

It should be barely noticeable. Instead, it’s a way for egomaniacs to impose their will on a game from hundreds of miles away, knowing they won’t get the criticism from the fans.

Was the player offside? Did he attempt to play the ball? Then it is offside. The next phase stuff doesn't matter.
