It worked because they had world class strikers like Suarez, Mane and Salah, now all they have is an aging Salah...Diaz is out injured as is Jota, Nunes is misfiring, Firminho out and Gakpo only just signed, can't compete can they.

They had better forward lines in the past but they’d at least link some play together on the counter attack. Firmino especially was good at this.

Now they just seem obsessed with getting it to a full back so that they can launch one into the box from every angle on the pitch and try and scrap for a second ball. It’s some of the worst football in the top half easily.

Their CBs are always injured. Fullbacks can't defend. Midfielders have no legs/injured.

Yet he's spent £200mill on Diaz, Nunez, Jota, and Gakpo.

Last 2 midfielders they bought were a 29 year old Thiago 2 seasons ago. And Keira in 2019.

Personally think he's not realised or refuses to admit the legs have gone in his defence and midfield

Because he doesnt include a midfield in his hoofball tactics, just relies on getting it to good players upfront quickly and hoping they come up with something.
