don't know anything about the spanish football league system but how on earth has a team formed in 2017 got to the third division already

Realistically it’s 8 wins needed in 13 games. No way that’s happening.

If two teams merge, you can take a teams place in the league, pending approval.

So in this case, Intercity has taken the place of its predecessor, which I believe played in the 4th tier.

They also restructured the league about 2-3 seasons ago, which effectively
Meant you could get double promoted (or relegated).

The second division in Spain is realistically the standard of League One mind.

By winning football matches - that was 5 years ago like lol

Also because of the amount of groups and teams per division in Spain - they're in Group 2 of the Third division.

Fun fact, Deportiva La Corunha are in Group 1 of the same division. Wild times for them too.
