International football outside of major finals has been murdered - the likes of England flat-tracking bullying Albania and Lativa holds no appeal for anyone. This tournament, meanwhile, has actually been a huge success. Get the top sides playing each other - and sides of all levels playing their own level and you get "matches" - not tedious cakewalks.

Actually how come England were playing in qualifiers and not in the nations league this week?

They were eliminated/relegated from the top league the last time round and were down among the dead men like us in League B.

Ah was wondering so just the league A sides go into a knockout against eachother so I guess

France and Spain could end up penalties in their respective games, Portugal just scored again to probably seal it.

Yup - League A plays for the title. 4 groups in League A. The top two in each goes into the knockout. Bottom sides go into relegation play-offs. The other Leagues play for promotion and relegation only.

You'd never back the Dutch on pens.

I make that Denmark 1992, France 1996, Brazil 1998, Italy 2000, Argentina 2014, and Argentina 2022 that they have lost on spots. They did beat Sweden in 2004 and Costa Rica in 2014, mind.

It will become more relevant the longer it exists. It's far better than having friendlies, games are much more intense. Just look at tonight, numerous great matches

The Germans are pretty pleased to be hosting another summer tournament - the mini Euros they are calling it.

Four excellent sides in the semis. They'll all want to win it.

Yeah, this. Actually don't mind it, the games genuinely seem to mean something to the players and it shows.
