Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

to further nothingness.

pretenders, with no belief and no bottle. When the universe needed someone to stand up to the wickedness of evil, they weren't found wanting, they simply weren't found at all.

this shower need deleting.

They were voted into the league in 1920. They only club to get voted in. On this ground alone, they should be relegated to league 2 and rework their way up.

At 71 pounds per ticket, Man City need 15,000 fans through the doors simply to pay a week's wages for Haaland and De Bruyne. Even thinking about this numbers makes me feel sick. Football was ruined decades ago, but it's absolutely grotesque nowadays. No wonder they fake all of their sponsorship deals to enable constant lavish spending on transfer fees and salaries.
Was reading the other day that crowds for lower league and non-league clubs are at record levels because of things like this

Makes one hope that the PL bubble will burst at some point. Sure other leagues have problems of their own but the PL is just utter perversion of the game at this point.

Ticket pricing is a hot topic in Spain as well, especially for Barça. Oddly enough, traveling CL fans apparently still get a discount but pricing for club members without season tickets at Olympic stadium pricing was understood to be high due to mitigate the lost receipts from Camp Nou in construction but doesn’t bode well for updated Camp Nou pricing & season tickets

Last CL match I attended at Camp Nou a few years ago in quarters, €120 for excellent seats in lower grada, similar seat at Olympic stadium vs Inter? <€400 (n)

Correction, €770 per ticket in Premier Grada - this is for club members, btw :red:

Tickets for traveling Barça fans to San Siro, €60 each but no doubt in the nosebleed corner

I simply could not justify spending that on a footie match on my wage.
when you include travelling and any food and drink, we're talking a ton.
I think clubs are overpaying their cards, with plenty of people having dodgy boxes and a generation of fans being used to watching televised games. To me it's all immoral, clubs getting rid of concession tickets it's a farce. But at the same time fans are partially to blame, if fans boycotted games clubs would listen.

Going to the game used to be about community and a shared interest in and with other sports enthusiasts. Now going to the game is about status and strutting and influence and followers. Everyone has become their own messiah, and monetising their lifestyle. Never felt more distant from my fellow human, at a time of such connectivity and the ability to reach around the world in seconds, isolation and helplessness is here. I wonder if this is how the 30's was.

Sadly, I think if fans boycottef, there'd always be someone to take their seat. Some go to matches just for the sake of having been there and having had that experience without caring about football as such.
