He is, somehow, a favourite of my 8 year old grandson who scours Accrington’s reports for mentions of Billy.
You may be right, but he would still be mortified. ( Pickford is his absolute favourite tbf, he has no time for any of the others).

He’s 8 ffs. He lives all the minutiae of Everton. He is a walking dictionary of all things Everton.
I wonder at you knowing the next Mongolian No.10 superstar or some such but would never consider you a “poor sod” and you being somewhat older than 8.
To answer your question I think he originally knows Billy from collecting Premier League Cards, the existence of which turns him into a Tony Soprano type personality.
