Losing 4-0 to them wouldn’t have raised any eyebrows at all not so long ago but they’re absolutely rotten. Not laying a glove on them is more humiliating than losing two 2-0 leads in a row or getting done at home to Southampton in the cup.

In Brunswick under-18s in the late 1960s, we had a right half named Phil Smallbone...

Yeah, they put an 'e' on the end of my name. They also fibbed about thenumber of goals Joe King scored. He actually scored 96. Joe played for Marine when they were playing in the equivalent of the Conference League now. Was picked up by a top American team, but suffered a double leg break with Marine which finished his career. Larry Stanton, Mick Moran, and Robert Stanley played for Everton 'A' on a fairly regular basis throughout the season.
