Today’s Football - 2024/25 Season

Must say, i was a cynic to the Swiss model, and whilst it has flaws... I found the process to be enjoyable in all 3 leagues so far.

Does it benefit the bigger clubs? Maybe? But I've seen Brest, Lille, Sporting and Celtic qualify... would they normally have done so?

The ability to play 2 sides from the same pot, I feel only benefitted them. Perhaps in a non "freak" year where Brest, Girona & Bologna all qualified from the "big" leagues it'd be less skewed, but i enjoyed it.

Well yeah a lot of teams will qualify when you let 24 teams into the knockouts

No problem with it, personally.

It's not like it's worked out as if it's a load of fodder versus quality and they're boring games

City vs. Real/Bayern

Could end up with

PSV Vs. Feyenoord
Juve vs. Milan
PSG vs. Monaco

QF could lead to

Inter - Milan
Bayer - Bayern
PSG - barca/Liverpool
Real - Atletico

Just think it couldn't have worked out better for UEFA.
