Today's Football 2014/15

We were just as boring as Chelsea this year. Why aren't Everton champions?

So much hawt garbage at the top of the prem this season, this was our chance to make a run :(

If there is one non-EFC player I will give a pass for the occasional dive to, it is Hazard. He gets kicked all over the pitch every week and never complains to the ref or rolls around like a Suarez.

Aye, he seems a decent sort. It's grand lads, Liverpool have to give Chelsea the guard of honour, it's been a good day.

St Pauli beat Franchise Leipzig, now out of the bottom three.

Well done to St Pauli and any other team that managed a win today.

That's as close to being magnanimous as you'll get from me. English football thanks Arsenal,Man City and United for collectively being useless in season 2014/15.
Now for the real race this season #formanorderlyqueuebehindchelsea.
COYS
now to wash my mouth out with bleach

Imagine Goodison in the second half with the team winning and on the verge of being champions!

They'd hear us in Chelsea without sky sports on.

I haven't seen it mate but I'm not surprised. A shower of plastic fans who are a no mark club with no mark fans. I remember when they beat us in the fa cup final and they just weren't arsed, it just doesn't mean as much to the majority of them than it would to us.

Our day will come again Dougie, problem is we will probably be about 90 years old when it happens lol

I don't really mind Chelsea (or City) other than the fact that their money makes clubs like us unable to compete at the top of the table, but the simple truth is the vast majority of these clubs supporters signed up for titles and trophies. They picked these teams specifically because it's probable they'll win stuff.

So while they may certainly be happy about winning the title it's also somewhat expected which I imagine takes a lot of the fun out of it.

Love him or hate him, Mourinho knows what he's doing. Popcorning Wenger was a nice bonus.
I find it strange that people feel that José has some accountability to appease the general masses, as if you need to win the title with swagger.

It may be slightly tepid and boring for the neutral, but I'm pretty sure the Chelsea fans and board will be happy tonight so he's done his job.

Putting it simply it is substance over style. If you can have both then fantastic, but the latter isn't as appealing or rewarding as the former.

The question you need to ask is: would you rather Everton win the league through 'boring' play, or finish second with style and substance?

I could happily endure 1-0 scrapes all season if that Premier League trophy (or any bloody trophy to be fair) was paraded around the Old Lady.

I'm sure José and a fair number of Chelsea fans, or in fact fans from any league club, would feel the same.
