Always thought you played like we did 8 years ago. You have some good players but also managed to just plain outwork a fair share of sides too. Its hard to play that way and maintain maximum intensity for the whole season though as plenty of everton sides just ran out of gas at the end. You probably don't need any big signings (assuming you keep everyone) just improve your depth.

You also have to learn to deal with your rivals (Arsenal-Chelsea). There were times when we went into the derby with a better side and Liverpool knew we were better. However when that was the case they would still get the better of us because they'd do the exact same thing that Chelsea did. Which was getting us off our game by goading us into a shin kicking contest.

Excellent post. I agree with pretty much everything there.

Given the age if our team we can only get better. Our first 11 is top drawer but we definitely need a stronger squad particularly in midfield and up front.

The one positive to finishing behind Woolwich is that it should keep Wenger in a job for another season so its not all bad.

I look forward to more YouTube videos of Woolwich fans waving their handbags at each other next year.
