Finally a bit of sense. If you look at individual matches between teams as a barometer for how we could/did get on then you'd see some crazy things. For example Sunderland lost away to City via a last minute goal and they should've gone a goal up via a penalty at 1-1, yet we battered Sunderland in their own back yard and we only had to turned up for 45 minutes.


Using the logic some posters are using that means we are better than City?

Sucking up to Dave? I've been very vocal on here about that performance. I hope the manager has us trying to win these sort of games rather than trying not to lose. On most any other day we would have gotten beaten. Thankfully Stek had an incredible game.

Outside of the penalties, which were brain farts by Jagielka as appose a tackles to stop a goal scoring chance, we restricted them to long shots. Ok they would 99 times out of 100 not miss two penalties in the same game, I'd argue an experienced defender (Jagielka) wouldn't give two penalties away in the same game, especially when, like I said, the attempted tackles weren't to stop a definite goal scoring chance.

You should also do some research on teams going into these sort of games away and try to win (in the sense you're suggesting) and see how often it comes off. Can you name 1 where a lower standard of squad has gone to a top team in exceptional form, played them at their own game and won? That's what you're wanting is it?

There is a difference between playing for the counter and what we did.
