Man City hadnt spent the previous Weds night running them selves into the ground against Barcelona had they?
That's a good point.

Finally a bit of sense. If you look at individual matches between teams as a barometer for how we could/did get on then you'd see some crazy things. For example Sunderland lost away to City via a last minute goal and they should've gone a goal up via a penalty at 1-1, yet we battered Sunderland in their own back yard and we only had to turned up for 45 minutes.Man City hadnt spent the previous Weds night running them selves into the ground against Barcelona had they?
maybe for you it does, the 3000 evertonians at the Etihad won't of seen it that way, nor a large chunk of the fan base. Quit your cry arsing about that game, just looks to me like you're sucking up to Dave.
I don't give a toss about the RS, they won't win it anyway, and we'll win nowYeah, right - let's give our immediate opponents a massive incentive to get 3 points by any means possible - to go top.. oh and while we're at it help the RS go top tomorrow.
Everton that..
Rodwell doesn't play and Sunderland win.
Outside of the penalties, which were brain farts by Jagielka as appose a tackles to stop a goal scoring chance, we restricted them to long shots. Ok they would 99 times out of 100 not miss two penalties in the same game, I'd argue an experienced defender (Jagielka) wouldn't give two penalties away in the same game, especially when, like I said, the attempted tackles weren't to stop a definite goal scoring chance.Sucking up to Dave? I've been very vocal on here about that performance. I hope the manager has us trying to win these sort of games rather than trying not to lose. On most any other day we would have gotten beaten. Thankfully Stek had an incredible game.
You should also do some research on teams going into these sort of games away and try to win (in the sense you're suggesting) and see how often it comes off. Can you name 1 where a lower standard of squad has gone to a top team in exceptional form, played them at their own game and won? That's what you're wanting is it?Sucking up to Dave? Remind me again of our goal. There is a difference between playing for the counter and what we did.

Plus you seemingly can't think of one example. LOL.
I don't think you can expect a Manager to come in and after 4 months play open attractive football against City at their own ground and win. There is a difference between playing for the counter and what we did.
