live from Paraguay... my side, Guarani had a 4 point lead with two matches to play. today @ Luque, the PY equivalent of Milwall or the Oakland Raiders, followed by a final match against PY powerhouse Olimpia. Would have been moved from Guarani's tiny pit stadium (cement steps on E/W sides, no ends, seats 7k) to the Estadio Defensores del Chaco, the national stadium... effectively making it an away match as about 45% the country is Olimpia. (They are the RM of PY, with Cerro Porteno having another 45% the pop as fans being the Barca).

0-0 at halftime, they came out gunning in the second half. 3 goals in the first 15 minutes.

watching the team and the fans serenade each other.

11th title overall, first title since 2010, with the last one before that coming way back in 1984.

Brilliant end to an otherwise absolute crap football weekend.
