Today's Football 2016 / 2017 Season

I think Liverpool have a shout of champions league but it will depend on how they perform against teams who don't play as openly as Arsenal, last season they did decent against the top teams but struggled against the likes of west brom etc. Realistically id say they have about the 6th or 7th best squad in the league and that would be their natural finishing position but we're only 1 game in so who knows.

Seeing them nearly give away a 3 goal lead gives me hope, i was fully on the bleach at 4-1

It's easy to dismiss them based on their recent history. Here are their league finishes in the last 7 years (starting with most recent):

8th
6th
2nd
7th
8th
6th
7th

Clearly the 2nd place finish is the anomaly. They had their Leicester City moment that year but still screwed it up. Now they have to compete with the likes of Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal for sure, and also perhaps West Ham and us (hopefully!) for a top 4 spot.
It's Klopp putting his stamp on them that makes me think they can achieve top 4 that and they've made a couple of decent signings.

Nothing else.

But like I've said, it's no guarantee.

Today clearly showed they still have defensive issues.

have to be honest, mate...if we scored 4 against Barcelona and Arsenal in the space of a couple of weeks we'd be indescribably giddy with über-excitement.

.....they clearly carry a goal threat and it's great when your team have that, especially playing the top teams away from home. I mentioned yesterday that we lack that threat and it's something that will need addressing as we progress. Good win for the Reds, no doubt about that.

Really fancy Chelsea this year.
They're my bet for the league champions. A new, strong manager who has a stable squad and who've in the mainstay won the league already.

Few strong additions already and with a few more in the pipeline I'd expect, although hopefully not Rom, then I can see them snipping it.

Also, when I say top 4 what I really mean is they have a shout at 4th.

I think United, City and Spurs are most likely to take 1-3.

Klopp has pedigree in a big league. They'll be up there or thereabouts so here's hoping Jose can wind Jürgen up, he's their achilles heel as well as their biggest strength. If we can bag a win in December it'll throw a spanner too.

The Anfield Derby is on April Fools' Day this season...should be a very tasty encounter.
