I still entertain hope for a tilt at top 4. There is still plenty of games left and some premium quality in our squad that is very close to being uncorked. The present top 6 would do well to cast fearful glance over their shoulder...a nine times champion team is chasing them down!!!

Ross has the potential to be the best attacking mid in the league. As of right now that's delusional. Gibbo is a quality player, but not one capable of getting us top 4 and eventually beyond.
 
I recall Gibbo's performance vs Spurs at GP in Moyes' last season. If he can overcome his niggling injury and then reproduces that form, we have little need to be particularly active in the January window.
We are SO close to having a title competing team. Those damn injuries to Darron and Jimmy Mac are all that are limiting us at present.
When this squad is all available, I suggest it will produce performance that will remind us all of the mighty mid 80s team.
The present PL top 6 should be afraid...as should the likes of Barca, Real and Bayern. Yes, I believe we are shortly to conquer Europe (if the orcs next door don't push a wall over on opposition fans in the interim, and get all English sides banned again. I wouldn't put it past those mutants to do it just to spite us and spike our European ambitions...their small time jealousies should never be underestimated
