They've got away with that big time.

Costa scores that pen and it's another pretty standard Chelsea win on the road.

That night's fixtures has confirmed where the league's going now.

I think they didn't do enough. Once it went to 1-1 Chelsea were rattled and any half decent Liverpool team would have got a few to cap another 'glorious night at Anfield'. This lot huffed and puffed and actually allowed Chelsea back in the game. The point is a better result for Chelsea, they didnt lose ground on any competitor, another game is gone, and a key head to head away from home has been navigated. Big winners could be United and City who have the chance to take 2 points out of Liverpool Spurs and 3 from Arsenal.

The fact that after Liverpool equalised and Chelsea went uber-negative to protect the point, they still created good (the better) chances reflects poorly on Liverpool for me.

Weaker teams will take points from Liverpool playing those tactics when it's not such a big game and they're not quite so hyped up (see Swansea and Wolves). If we win tomorrow night, these genuinely aren't impossible to catch imo.

January 2 PL table after 19 games played:

Chelsea 49
RS 43
Arsenal 40
Spurs 39
City 39
United 36
Everton 27

February 2 PL table after 23 games played, if Everton win tomorrow:

Chelsea 56
Spurs 47
Arsenal 47
RS 46
City 46/44/43
United 44/42/41
Everton 39

This isn't over yet.

...just looking at the table, Sunderland and Hull are looking a bit detached. It could then be any one of 4, Boro, Leicester, Swansea and Palace. Difficult few months ahead for everybody connected to those clubs, I remember what it was like and wouldn't wish it on anybody (except one of course).
We play Palace (A) on Saturday safe to say that's even more of a can't lose game now
