When I started following football in the 60s there was a famous enough stat that Spurs had not won at Anfield since before the Titanic sank.

It was wheeled out year after year after year and that stat still existed in 1985.

In the spring of that year, EFC and Spurs were locked in battle at the top of the table and on one particular Saturday Spurs were due to play at The Pit.

I forget where we were playing that day but I would certainly have been at the game.

We were all pretty relaxed......the Titanic and all that jazz was very much in our favour.

It was one of those rare days when Blues want....no, needed....the RS to win.

They lost......to a team which had not beaten them at home since 1911

And you know what.....I am hard pushed to think of Spurs wining again there since
