To be fair to Sutton, the paper in question did nothing to them

It's all well and good us hating that rag for justifiable reasons, but Sutton are a non-league team who could probably really use that money

Not everyone can afford to turn their nose up to sponsorship money sometimes

So if the scum wanted to sponsor us for a gigantic sum that would be acceptable for you ??

Might say more about the standard of English football in the pyramid below the PL.

I have had a theory for years about that.

Sutton have a player who played CL for Arsenal.

.....I don't think the standards are particularly higher in the lower leagues but there is plenty of money at Conference level so the players look much fitter and better organised. I think they are all full time.

They aren't from the north west. They are a non league team. They are no doubt skint. There are about 20 other professional sides in their city. They probably need the money. I think it's silly to compare them with us. We hold that rag in utter contempt for obvious reasons but this is a nonleague club miles away. At worst they are guilty of ignorance to what damage that rag done. But I wouldn't slate them.
