We deserve to throw this away for playing utter caveman football and not even doing that right. Hopefully they can sneak a win against Serbia on Tuesday or I think that's the end of that.
I'd much prefer trying to play some decent football and coaching and training with that in mind even if it meant we didn't qualify for a couple of tournaments.

Williams looks good for Wales because he drops way back in the middle of a three and Davies and Chester does his running. Ratcliffe made a good point on radio Wales, Everton should have gone in for Davies as a left sided center back and left back cover.Superb goal from Woodburn.

i said this about 4 or 5 years ago when he broke through at swansea, said he'd be the perfect understudy for baines and could take over from him when ready. But then spurs went and did what they did best and picked up a great bit of business. He seems right in the door there now so they wouldn't have sold him anyway. We could have at least tried for someone like.

Seamus getting injured has meant we don't have a single quality player in the team...Shane Long possibly but that's really stretching it. Martin has done an incredible job with this garbage. Never mind qualifying for the Euros getting out of the group....sensational management. It's long ball percentages stuff, the only way to best a team with superior talent which happen to be 90% of our opponents.
Wales have a far more gifted group of players. Woodburn looks a serious talent. We have nothing at that level.

It's utterly dreadful isn't it, I've went to so many home games over the years but I just can't bring myself to travel up there on a Tuesday night to watch that tripe.
The actual playing style is the exact same as why Trap was forced out, it's actually been illegal for the Irish goalkeeper, under no circumstance to give the ball to a full back for years now, utter dross.

I'm sorry but I don't buy into this excuse that has been rolled out for Trapp and O'Neill. Teams at all levels of football attempt some version of a passing game with players of lesser talent. It's a huge insult to the available pool of players, whether selected or yet to be selected to say we have one choice alone and that is to punt the ball forward and play percentages or hope for the best.
Glenn Whelan is pretty atrocious as you are pointing out, but I don't think it makes the point you want it to. He is picked and has been picked for years because he follows the instructions of the negative coaches to a tee....nothing more, nothing less. Him being in the team and being captain is a testament only to the mindset of our coaches and not proof that these Prem/Championship players cannot control and pass a ball well enough to be trusted to play a bit from the back. It's bizarre how many people believe this to be an indisputable fact.
I understand some fans want wins and tournament qualification no matter the method, but I'd prefer we get off the merry-go-round of parking the bus/hoofing our way to qualification just to go out early anyways.
The football under Trapp was absolutely abysmal. I'd never lost interest in the national team before but it was an absolute chore watching those games. O'Neills been better but that wasn't that hard really.
I don't know how you'd ever know what talent there is given the be all and end all is qualification leading to stale and predictable selections of players like Whelan because the coach knows exactly what he will get from him.
