No it doesn't mate, the direction of the ball is not mentioned in the law.

When the ball was played to the guy in the middle his left leg was closer to the goal than the ball and 2 liverpool defenders, thus he was offside.

But it was ridiculously difficult for a linesman to see so understandable and hilarious that he didn't.
