It gives him a bit of a breather as he's genuinely not fit to referee.

I will go 5 yellow cards in the second half so he can catch his breath too..

The answer lies in your question. At least the other 2 are ex-players. Green has been on the airwaves for 30 odd years unable to disguise his love for them. I stopped listening to him years ago because of his bias.
