Michael Reid: Just look at the Spurs bench. I don't get why they haven't bought a single player this window. Madness.

7 Son Heung-min
9 Janssen
12 Wanyama
13 Vorm
27 Wimmer
29 Winks
38 Carter-Vickers

Hope Mr Michael didn't see everyone else's bench from this weekend, it was way worse than spurs'.

City's was good, but absolutely stockpiled with attackers, no plan in place to see a game out, arsenal's was alright, but better than spurs'? not for me, chelsea's was horrific, liverpool's even worse, united N/A and ours' was okayish but not great either.

Spurs' bench looked pretty good to me. Just needs a couple more additions.

No it doesn't mate, the direction of the ball is not mentioned in the law.

"
Offside is one of the laws of association football, codified in Law 11 of the Laws of the Game. The law states that a player is in an offside position, when he/she receives the ball which is played by a teammate, actively involved in the play. A player is in an offside position if any of their body parts with which they can touch the ball during any other part of the play is in the opponents' half of the pitch and closer to the opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last opponent (usually, but not necessarily always, the last defensive player in front of the goalkeeper).[1] Being in an offside position is not an offence in itself; at the moment the ball touches, or is played by, the player's team, the player must also be "actively involved in the play" in the opinion of the referee, in order for an offence to occur.[1] When the offside offence occurs, the referee stops play and awards an indirect free kick to the defending team from the position of the offending player.[1]"

When the ball was played to the guy in the middle his left leg was closer to the goal than the ball and 2 liverpool defenders, thus he was offside.

But it was ridiculously difficult for a linesman to see so understandable and hilarious that he didn't.
If you'd have read the rest of the law it quite clearly states that a player can only be deemed offside if he/she is closer to the goal than the ball. This means if a ball is played backwards or square then he/she can not be given offside.

Sissoko is playing quite well. He's a more central role in this match.

But it's just a matter of time before Eriksen prevails over ten men.
