Scholes 'resigned by text' - Oldham owner
Just screams of someone who's played at the highest level all his life and doesn't like that he's having to go to the lower leagues to prove himself and then has just given up so easily at the first sign of trouble. He gave up on his country early enough because everything there wasn't plain sailing. He won't get anywhere if he keeps quitting so easily. Thought scholes would have had a bit more fight than that tbh.
Followed up by his tame journo's this morning giving the usual sob story of how he tried to make it work despite interference from the owner. How SAF would never have put up with it. The Nevilles, Scholes, Beckham et al are changing football for the worse, distorting the non league with their Salford toy. You were great players, you won many deserved trophies, but you can't manage so you want to control. Leave it. Your reputations are being tarnished by your current actions.

Not going to say it’s a fix they get the easiest draw, but looking at the draw as a whole, the potential of United/Barca vs Liverpool one side and City vs Juve the other. Pretty convenient that the 4 favorites have avoided each other in the QF. UEFA will be happy.

I can't agree that they're destroying none league. They've got interested in their home team club and are investing effort and some finances into it. Compared with how sky money has utterly ruined competition in the top division, creating same old same old reliable, sellable brands, its a bit harsh of an accusation to make if them, just getting involved with their local club.

(Sarcasm font on)Amazing coincidence.

Could be that only 1 English team makes it to the semi's.

City v Spurs will be interesting .... they also face each other in the league after the 2nd leg and City then travel to Utd.
That could well unhinge their season...

I didn't say destroying, I said distorting. I stand by that.

They have the easiest draw on paper but let's be fair here - PSG, Napoli and Bayern are a tough test for any side. They did well to get through and honestly it's the likes of Porto who will upset them. It's when the bigger sides roll in to town we get the ''famous nights' trotted out.

Mate they bummed them 5-0 at their own ground last year. The tie will be over after 30 mins of the first leg.

My mistake.

Then again, surely the aim of every owner ought to be to distort a league to favour their own team. I'm sure that's the aim behind every transfer.
Most non league owners struggle to manage debt and keep their heads above water. Competing and distorting are two completely different things, as I suspect you know.

To be honest, if that lot beat Bayern, Barca, AND Juve they deserve the trophy. They won’t, but still.

I can see a City vs Liverpool final coming tbh, it would just continue the predominance of the premier league clubs this season.

I wouldn't even bet against a Chelsea vs Arsenal Europa final too.
