He is always injured'
Manchester United 0-2 Tottenham

Chris Sutton

Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

You have to feel for Phil Jones but he is always injured. He is not reliable and he cannot get a run of games under his belt

Ermmm, is Sutton saying we shouldn't feel sorry for him because he is used to getting injured?

Richard: United don't need a DF as much as they need a world class striker. Lukaku is just horrible to watch. And not just today. His control of the ball is worst out of all EPL strikers bar none.

Ha

He just needs to be supported up front - as part of a front three with him playing off someone like Benzema or Tosun, running into space created by the central forward he'd be devastating; they'd overload almost everyone and it would be almost impossible to stop.

The problem he has (and he's had it since before he came to us) is that managers look at him and think he's Drogba, which he isn't, and build their tactics around him doing the Drogba role.

He’s got this new role as BTs ‘straight talker’ so he’s got to keep up appearances.

Has to permanently come up with nonsense to maintain his ‘brand’.

I wonder if it's mental, more than anything else.

When I had my knee injury, I wasn't able to play rugby without the worry of doing it again.

Yeah, his size makes him seem like a target man but he'd be lethal in a two. I never understood our fans moaning at him, we looked at the weaknesses of a guy who was getting twenty plus goals every season for us. He scored a lot for united too last season and they still moaned. They have loads of issues, like we did and the fans moan at one of the main strengths of the team.

United look awful here. Despite Gary Neville’s giddiness during the break they were just workwd hard in that first half.

Think citeh, spurs and Chelsea will wrap up the top 3 places but the 4tb is deffo up for grabs.

The premier league didn’t need VAR though. Good enough for the World Cup, good enough for the champions league, the FA cup, other leagues, but not the prem oh no, there might be some teething problems so let’s just continue with blatantly incompetent and/or biased officiating every week.

Instead of the likes of Pawson and Lee Mason.. just give the whistle to a kid with a stopwatch - then VAR all the important decisions.
