Yeah why not devalue the CL and make it far easier to win again with only one team each from Spain, England, Italy and Germany to be replaced by automatic qualification for the champions of Finland, Czech Republic, Scotland and iceland instead.

Not just money it would make it hugely devalued, fancy replacing AC Milan or Juventus with Reyjavik, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid with Prague or Bayern Munich with HJK Helsinki

Not really - the same teams that dominated pre-CL times dominate it now, the difference is that those teams now have an absolutely absurd amount of money which they waste on efforts to keep themselves there, which means "the dross" in every national league suffer.

The game has moved on in the last twenty years, the giant Spanish clubs plus Atleti and the likes of Bayern have regularly featured in the semis.

Now all four premier league teams in the last eight.

The gap between the top leagues in Spain, England, Germany and Italy, especially at the top level, and the other more minor leagues has become a chasm.

Even PSG suffer because their domestic football is played in such a sub standard league. We need to face facts as they are now when we live, not how they where 20 years ago imo.

It is an inescapable fact that if you replace the majority of the better teams in a competition with teams that are a level or twenty below their standard then you necessarily drastically weaken the standard of teams taking part and make it far easier to win.

I think you could improve it by just allowing four teams from the four best leagues plus PSG and fifteen qualifiers from the rest.

Go straight into a knockout last 32.
