Wayne Hennessy

32 years old..... claims he does not know what a Nazi Salute is

that is the most ludicrous claim i have ever heard

I would expect maybe an 8 year old to plead that argument

first of all what did he study in history lesson? surely world war 2 and nazi germany or the holocaust is in every school curriculum

second of all, there have been so many films made in recent history about nazi germany such as inglorious basterds which grossed over 300 million and everyone has heard of schindler's list one of the greatest films ever made which also grossed over 300 million and won numerous film awards

then you have war films in general like pearl harbour, saving private ryan, dunkirk which if you watched you would have inevitably done some research afterwards about nazi germany at some point

finally, there is no way on earth he would not have read about the man who taught his girlfriend's dog how to do a nazi salute and was found guilty of committing a hate crime only last year

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-43864133

now according to his twitter he has made 1,842 tweets and follows 377 people

The guy follows LADBIBLE!

ladbible did an article on the nazi dog

http://www.ladbible.com/entertainme...er-man-convicted-for-dog-nazi-salute-20180321

he also follows alan sugar who got in trouble for posting a picture of jeremy corbyn sitting next to hitler which he had to delete
He is a footballer in the end of the day. Most footballers leave school/education at 14 and generally, they are clueless about anything outside of football. Michael Owen, in the past, admitted that he only watched 4 films in his entire life. So I feel a lot of people are overestimating the overall education of footballers here.

Oh don't spoil it. People need their outrage.
IT'S A DISGRACE! AM I RIGHT???

I find it very hard to believe that he didn't know what a Sieg Heil was, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this occasion

As others have said, footballers tend to live quite insulated lives that bare no real comparison with the lives of normal people, so it's possible he's never come across it. He might also just be really really thick, which is "lamentable" as the FA said, but not a crime

The excuse that he was trying to get someones attention and the camera caught him in an unfortunate pose is at least believable and something that could actually be possible. The issue is the left hand over the mouth I think. If that wasn't there then it would just look like he was waving, rather than getting his Hitler on

I'm happy to chalk this all up to being an unfortunate misunderstanding, but if he does something like this again then that would suggest something worse

Maybe Olé speaks the truth, it's hard to ignore really, and in truth the squad is well short and needs mountains of work to transform it. Managers' don't get time these day's, gone are the days when a Wenger or Fergie can build gradually or expect a lengthy tenure, so needing time makes it so much more unlikely he'll complete the task.

Olé will, like all his modern rivals, be judged on immediate results next season, and City, Liverpool and even Arsenal won't stand still, fortunately for Olé though their other rivals may not progress, Spurs new stadium may constrain their spending and Chelsea might be forced backwards through losing Hazard and a potential transfer ban.

I would be surprised if Olé lasted out next season, he'll need help with the summer business as its such a huge task and signing too many at once rarely goes well as they have to be integrated without destroying the whole team ethos. Fulham, although obviously on a level or seventy-two below United, showed how spending and multiple change can make it far worse, but there are numerous examples of far better clubs making the same mistake.

A director of football needed to be in place even before Solsjkaer's appointment, not next month or the month after. Olé sacked before next season's out is looking an increasingly attractive bet.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: We have years of work to do to get to Barcelona's level
