According to some City fans this is a taste of supposedly why (and nothing to do with them being plazzy like) they have loads of empty seats:

"t's due to City having one of the poorest (in terms of disposable income) fanbases in the country. In the Premier League in 2013 we were second only to Wigan in this regard, so no money plus austerity plus increased prices and its no wonder we've got empty seats."

"The champions league reeks of hypocrisy & corruption , it was invented for money & a elite few teams to win in it with the odd interloper allowed every now & then to keep up the appearance that it’s a competition. I would want City to win anything we’re in but the whole thing leaves me cold & I wouldn’t lose any sleep if we go out early."

"I have a theory that's it's largely a generation thing. I've seen and heard a lot of our younger fans and more recent, foreign ones saying that they see the CL as their top priority whereas it's many of the older ones who don't seem to like it."

"I reckon that us older fans still associate the CL with the old G14 cartel like Liverpool, Utd & Arsenal and UEFA's attempts to maintain them as the wealthiest clubs which enabled them to spend more money & have better players. We're not suddenly going to fall in love with it just because we're in it."

BBC re button features Lymington town V Torquay proper cup football
I now live about 5 miles from Lymington as I married a soft Southerner. It's very posh in Lymington. The men all wear sweaters wrapped around their shoulders and deck shoes even if they don't own a boat. Argos tried to open a store in Lymington and there was a big campaign to stop it opening which succeeded. Very sad.

Its a strange game to watch, you can see that they are "ok" players but see why they are at the level they are, just that lack of 1st touch or not quite the right strength in the pass,Lymington have a 47 year old playing who looks like the strapping is holding him together
