Ronaldo? Eh? He’s nearly 22 and has scored one goal against an under strength united team.

Yeah, just like Ronaldo.

I was referring to the free kick technique rather than the quality of the player. It's the Ronaldo/ Bale way of striking it.

He'll never repeat it so I wouldn't worry yourself unduly.

Yeah most young players never make the highest level, my wife's nephew was let go last year and he is devastated but nowhere near as much as his Dad is, its heart breaking. They take them younger and younger now and I suppose as a parent you cant help but get excited but when realty strikes its brutal and the club don't do sentimentality - well not with the youngsters.

Derby looked surprisingly good there, I was expecting Lampard to tank.

That said, their two best players, Mount and Wilson don't belong to them so it's a bit illusory.

What I really want to know is why our loan players never do a 'Wilson'. Ours, even the good ones, barely warrant description as 'inconspicuous', whereas Liverpool send out a no-mark Welshman in his early twenties and he reincarnates into bloody Ronaldo out of nowhere. He'll probably never do anything of note in his career again but you just know they'll be able to sell him for £20m now. Gits.

You mean the lad whos the youngest ever International player to play for Wales and Liverpool?

Happened to a guy at work, whose son used to play for stoke from 8 years old. He used to talk and say even if his son is only on 20k a week when in the first team he will retire.

When his son got to 17 he was released from the club and never got any offers apart from non league clubs who offered minimum wage.
I think he works in a factory now, he never got any qualifications because he thought he was going to make it in the premier league

The live coverage of Ligue 1 in France is a bit mad, watching it on Bein Sports and they just switch from game to game whenever something happens and if nothing is going on they keep watching whatever happens to be on.

This is called a simulcast mate. They do the same thing in Germany for Bundesliga.
