I remember another footballer posting a similar pic either last year or the year before, its some local tradition in Spain apparently....

Not only in Spain; also in Belgium, the Netherlands (with a little regional variation) etc... (Three kings' Day). In the Benelux it's basically children going from door to door, and they perform and you give them money. If I somewhat remember correctly from my catholic education lessons (wasn't really paying attention most of the time tbf); it's only vaguely mentioned in the gospel of Matthew and in some Psalms. Somewhere along the line they decided that there were supposed to be three, and they had to represent a wide variety (you'll see something similar in a lot of paintings: a middle eastern, white and a black 'king'). Over here they don't alter their skin colour though.

I think in Spain they receive the presents from their parents though; not from their neighbours.
