I will always say it and i will stick to it,all that was ever needed for me was Goal Line cams,everything else will wreck footy for me,no matter how much people will say its just starting even with it,it still will make errors as proved,it will off course get the odd one right but in getting it right or wrong,it takes way to much time- i am not and have not been a fan of VAR

Thats the only good reason really and the best reason-but for me i just dont know how they can make this work when still after these trails etc that it still messes up and still i think they are confused what they can use it for

It's brought in to make the officials job easier. At least it gives the ref a view that the lino only has a split second to see in real time. They've made the offside law so precise now though that it's almost impossible. But that's not VAR being wrong, some will think it's offside some will think it's on, but that's why we have officials and its down to them at the end of the day. It's the same in most aspects of life, one jury will judge a case one way, whereas another will judge the same case another.

But maybe they could do similar to cricket in that the ref has a couple of looks and if they're still undecided, just stick with the original decision instead of taking loads and loads of looks.

VAR is going to help officials make a lot more correct decisions, but it can't make it for them.

You get idiots like shearer and Murphy who are so thick they make it seem incompetent though.

How can they trial VAR in just the odd games in the comp ? Blackburn were done by 2 offside mag goals last night and are out while Southampton could go through thanks to that being ruled out

It will stop the howlers, its the use of it that's not perfected not the system itself.

It will markedly increase the percentage of correct decisions, it won't be correct on all occasions and won't be able to change human misuse of it.

Its human beings who decide the use of it and what to pull up not VAR.

Yep, it's still a sport of interpretations rather than laws, I keep saying they should bring back the old offside rule, as it was a set in stone law and they faffed around with "player being active" and all that crap and its created so much more controversy.

What annoys me is people saying its useless because it stops the flow of the game. What bloody flow? Every team outside the top 7 or 8 in this league goes away vs these teams and time wastes for the full match, breaking the game up with no repercussions, pretty much all the flow has gone out of the game now.

Just read they checked VAR on both goals even though there was no need. Its baffoons like the refs in this league, none of which went to the world cup who cause most of the controversy.


Do they at least have a 4th official checking it first instead of getting the ref to walk all the way to the side of the pitch? Someone needs to tell them to just put it on the big screen like in Rugby.
