Yup - probably just slightly more corrupt than the English PL over there.

They're all corrupt the French League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga, Premier League and its all down to TV. When clubs just relied on dedicated local fans or even more dedicated fans from elsewhere, clubs were on an even playing field somewhat. Now people can become fans, just from watching TV, there's an incentive to keep fans with the biggest armchair fan base doing well to keep them content. Glory hunters who have no connection to the club they support or the area that club plays, aren't in it for the long haul. Look at the RS attendances under Hodgson, see how the RS disappear when they're doing poorly. When Klopp came in at first, pubs were half empty when they played, when they're doing well, they wanna go the pub.

They actually made a documentary about it. The van dijk part with his leg being fixed is around 4:25 or so I think.
