Unfortunately that's how the modern game is. Look at Foden yesterday. I know he's an exception. But your wide midfielders have to work back and having said that, it's nothing new. All successful teams have players who work like trojans all over the pitch and always have had. They were both hounded out because they couldn’t run marathons every game to track back and cover for full backs.
Well lots have the players they deserve playing on the wings now.
Look at our great teams of the past - andy gray was a torment to defenders, so was inchy, sharp; the entire side worked harder without the ball than they did with it, but when they got it they did damage.Unfortunately that's how the modern game is. That's exactly my point mate. It's OK having these fancy Dan's in your team but if they don't graft for 90 minutes plus they're not worth a carrot.Look at our great teams of the past - andy gray was a torment to defenders, so was inchy, sharp; the entire side worked harder without the ball than they did with it, but when they got it they did damage.
Them barstewards over the park in the 80s were famous for it, as were fergies United teams more recently.
City and the pedz do it now, they run you to death.
We’ve got players turning their backs on shots, crapping out of tackles and jogging around or not tracking back.
Graft, not only that, they've got to be able to sprint all over the park for at least 100 minutes. That's exactly my point mate. It's OK having these fancy Dan's in your team but if they don't graft for 90 minutes plus they're not worth a carrot.
So we still haven’t learnedAnd they were 2 of the problems. Both exceptionally good players on their day but unfortunately their day came for twenty minutes for about 5 games a season.
How soon can Sheffied United be relegated and how close are they to a PL record for goals conceded in a season?

Stranger things have happened36 points left to play for them, so they could still technically finish on 49 which is 6th currently lol
