Think taking the bias out of it; I think this week just shows how poor the Premier League is at the moment.
Arsenal were steamrolling everyone by 4-5 goals from the turn of the year; they've stumbled past a faltering Porto on pens, before going out to the worst Bayern side in over a decade.
Liverpool, for me, have been absolutely punching above their weights; which I'd probably a sign of how poor the league has been again, I think perhaps they built themselves a bit of a "false economy", in some of the results and felt they could just waltz through games such as Atalanta, Palace and United, and when they've needed an extra level just don't have it.
City, not been at their best all season, yet somehow find themselves top of the league. A full pelt city would have annihilated Real over 2 legs, instead they didn't have an answer to Ancelottis master play he's utilised so effectively over the last 20 years.
West Ham - away leg let them down, where have I seen that before? (Fiorentina away)
Villa - Don't think I can be critical.
But if this is the best league in the world Masters so dearly wants, maybe instead of creating such a gulf in quality, perhaps he'd be more inclined to allow for a more balanced league where the likes of Liverpool and City are given tougher tests on a regular basis as opposed to against 8 Championship quality sides every season.
