He was that player with us for most of the minutes he played last season, it’s just that everyone around him was utterly crap.

Talented no question and equally there’s no likelihood of him continuing at Atletico. However as good as he has looked, clear he’ll be a bandaid since it’s a loan with no buy option. Moreover Los Rojiblancos insisted on extending his contract until 2029 to maintain some leverage on recouping their initial transfer fee

So the better he does, more his fee will increase- I think he’ll be in Saudi if Mendes isn’t able to work out a reasonable deal for him to continue
