Having recently read what Wayne Barnes family went through after that fat scumbag rassie erasmus did his videos on referee's (purely to put pressure on them), at what point are managers going to brought to heel over their statements stoking up idiot football fanbases over referees? Do one have to have the death threats become a rea;ity but the gaffers stop acting out of pure self preservation and blaming refs for their own failures?
A ref got struck by an object at Crewe on Saturday by Notts County fans and had to be protected by a line of police after the game

That’s where we are at, considering the antics at top levels bleed down to grass roots where there’s constant reports of refs as young as 15-16 getting verbally and physically abused on a weekly basis to the point one of the biggest youth leagues based in Northumberland has issued a statement that, after 10 weeks of reports, they will issue bans to clubs if found guilty of any further behaviours towards officials

Spot on, and the lower you go down the higher the level of magnification and the less the level of protection. As you can see with folk agreeing with De Zerbi, even when he makes it really personal like he has done in his last statement, fans aren't willing to look beyond their own bias, and managers will gleefully pass on accountability of losing points to officials.

Refs now how less control of the game with VAR (which managers and fans cried to ring in) and also have more accountability. With clubs and managers making stupid statements designed to either reduce their own accountaility or put pressure on the refs in the future, its a really toxic situation.

To be fair, most players make more mistakes per game than referees. It would seem that most people involved in football are crap.

Yeah and teams can buy and sell players at their choosing, and they can drop players who aren't performing and even substitute them during a specific game to get really microscopic about it. It's human error with accountability, that isn't the case with a referee making a terrible decision that costs you a game.

England a goal down to Iran in the U17 World Cup. If it stays like that it looks like there would be an England-Brazil showdown in the last game to take 2nd place.

Came back to win 2-1 in the end. Puts them in the driving seat in the group now. Should still be a tasty match with Brazil last up though

What do we think then

Are Wales qualifying for Euro 2024?

They've got to beat both Armenia and Türkiye to do it you'd think

That Group is tighter than a ducks backside at the moment

Türkiye on 16
Wales and Croatia on 10
Armenia on 7

Could still be anyone's group
