Got to say that Begovic kept the score down in that one, but Walters should feel gutted for missing that last minute pen.

They've won the opening game of the season trophy.

They'll struggle to finish bigger teams off as well as lower sides. They've got a thin squad.

Best they can finish is 7th or 8th.

Unless they end up keeping Suarez and but that Willian and Cissokho they are supposedly after. Still can't see them finishing higher than 5th as they just can't finish teams off.

cissokho's already come i think. enrique is pretty gash, but they needed to strengthen a lot more positions than LB. They are going to let in a hell of a lot of goals if today is anything to go by. stoke could have scored 4/5 and they only got into liverpool's half that many times
