11 men behind the ball for the majority of the half against the worst side in the league. What happened to Brendan's philosophy? They just play exactly like they did under Rafael, sit deep defend and when it breaks down get Gerrard to boom long balls into the corners for the strikers. They know that this formula will never win them the league though because over the course of the season you don't get that much luck yet seaosn in seaosn out they refuse to budge from it because its the only one that Stevie Me can play. Most undeserved 2-0 lead I think I've ever seen - can't remember the last time we were gifted such a lead after only mounting 2 decent attacks all half. It'll be some marathon effort for us to get a win against Newcastle yet some teams in this legaue just get gifted them to keep them in contention. If anything that 45 minutes was the worst of their season yet they're 2-0 up. only the RS.

I really fear Utd will fail to make top 4

They'd get rid of Moyes well before that happened though. If they were out of the top 4 by Christmas they'd get someone in who the players would play for and go on a 8, 9, 10 game winning streak. They have the players for that. City will be there, no question and Chelsea have too much to be elbowed out. If this was the Arsenal from last year I'd wonder if, along wit Spurs, Liverpool might get in there, but they seem to have sorted themselves.

Realistically, the standard of player Liverpool have outside that front two will get them into a scrap for a Europa League place.

Sunderland the better team in that half....that's how you know, over a season, Liverpool wont be in the CL places shake up. Not a chance they'll muscle in ahead of City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal or even Spurs...and we'll be nip and tuck with them for 6th.

Yep. Top 5 will be too much for them this year.

Fortunately for Liverpool, they have two top class players up front and a player who, despite his legs going, can still whip a good set piece and play a good long ball. The above is solely where their 3 shots on target and 2 goals have come from. The rest of their side (barring Mignolet, usually) and their bench is not much better than mid-table, overall.

Injuries could [Poor language removed] them royally yet, but you can't rely on that. We need to keep pace with them for when they slip up. And they will. Starts tomorrow night.

It went exactly where it went after about 12 games last season mate: out the window.

Liverpool do NOT play a possession based game. They are very direct at times.

Unless they spend 30million in January
