Can someone tell me why CSKA Moscow didn't play at home yesterday due to unplayable pitch? Ive noticed all Russian teams hardly ever play at home in CL or Europa ha! Anzhi didn't last year aswell sometimes!

CSKA Moscow travelled 200miles for a home game, absolutely mental.
They actually travelled 700 km (430 miles).

Unplayable pitch cuz they share a stadium with Dinamo, as their own stadium is being renewed. Dinamo had a game first, with Lokomotiv, and the pitch was dreadful from the rain.

Hah, was just reading about this as I got curious - I thought surely there would have been another stadium available in Moscow? It turns out Spartak's stadium was unavailable as well because of ongoing contruction works ahead of 2018, and Lokomotiv's was also unplayable. So they had to go to St. Petersburg. Mental.

And I doubt the pitch was that great in St. Petersburg as well, as Zenit played Austria Wien there the day before
