my main gripe with the offside rule just shown in hull vs brighton there.
takes a deflection, fryatt has a tap in from a yard, so doesn't touch it just incase he's offside (which he was), but by then, the keeper's given up because he thinks fryatt will just tap in.
how's that not inadvertantly interfering with play?
why can't they go back to the old offside rule, if they're in an offside position when the ball's kicked forward, it's offside with the obvious exceptions of course.
anyone standing in an offside position is interfering with play - i.e. they're making a defender track their run, creating space where the defender could have instead gone in to. all this rubbish about interpretation and perception e.g. second phase of a move, whether they're interfering.
seriously don't know what was wrong with the original law i stated, was a simple rule that doesn't need interpretation.
