Wes Hoolahan

The football writers favourite

Not seen much of him, but it seems he's always being pushed by the Irish Press as an important player who deserves more of a chance

Any Irish supporters thoughts on this?

Well when your team blatantly lacks a playmaker and was grinding out bland draws and tight wins then it was pretty obvious Wes could make a difference and would be the only Irish player who is a real creator.

As much as I didn't like it I could understand that he just didn't fit Traps horrible brand of football so didn't play.

One of the best things about watching us now is we have room for a player like him. Can give something special, but as you'd expect isn't terribly consistent...otherwise he'd be at a higher level than Norwich.

Playing okay tonight, putting in some defensive work too.

So I got to enjoy watching my dear South African national team get thrashed by Brazil 5-0 today (including a Neymar hatrick)
Performance and result aside, something happened at the end of the game which was simply such a wonderful moment I wanted to share it
There was a bit of a commotion because at the end of the game a bunch of fans managed to find their way onto the pitch where they ran towards the Brazil players to meet them. Stewards ran around clearing them, but the Brazilian team were nice and friendly by all accounts, especially to one particular little South African boy.
Sometimes footballers are accused of being overpaid and out of touch- but this was just so so sweet its made my heart explode for this little boy. What a fantastic moment.

Sounds like the sort of player O'Neil will give a chance to actually

Tadic a very tidy player from what I've seen so far, caught the goalie off his line with a curling long ranger that was just kept out. A lot of people tipping him as our best bet for a new attacking mid playing in that supporting three.
