I don't think the refs can look at replays at halftime. If anything it benefits arsenal because Gibbs red card will be recinded.

Unless its violent conduct I don't think they can suspend Ox...or can they?

If its mistaken identity i think they can give the red card to the correct player.

If the ref realizes his mistake at half time I wonder if the rules allow him to rectify it by sending off Oxtail and allow Gibbs back on for the second half?

No they don't.

What i think happened is : After the shot got turned past the post they officials were gonna give a corner, then Chelsea appealed for a pen and after confering over headset the officials decided that it was handball and a penalty.

But, because it wasn't an instant decision they then recalled a stocky black guy in the vicinity of the far post diving and handling the ball (where both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gibbs were) and thought it was Gibbs.

While they were completly wrong about that they are right to uphold sending Gibbs off, once they decide who they're sending off they should not allow a player to tell them otherwise, i'm sure teams have tried the "it wasn't me honest" line before.

Chelsea only needs 7 more goals to tie us up with them in GD.

They should notch up another couple.

If we could win well today it could tighten the GD up considerably and that might wind up a point less we need to finish in front of Arsenal.

The wrong guy - Chelsea 3-0 Arsenal
Arsenal may get that card changed. In November, Preston of League One had the wrong man sent off against Port Vale - retrospectively, striker Joe Garner was suspended for three games despite midfielder Neil Kilkenny being shown the red card during the match.

Bare in mind i think Ox has been their best player by mile lately mate, that would work out well for us, isn't that third game vs us if he does get suspended?

Everytime one of our players gets sent off, Naismith jogs off looking despondent, 'Yeah, it was me, not Distin, honest,' and trots off the pitch, knowing his position in the team
