Shay Given, on loan at Middlesbrough from Aston Villa, on BBC Radio 5 live
Chelsea 0-0 West Ham
"There is no way on earth a goalkeeper will put the ball down in the 94th minute without knowing he was safe to do so."

correct me if i'm wrong, wasn't shay given the keeper for the dion dublin, he's behind you incident?

west ham players reaction to that result is appaling. they're celebrating, saying they can come to good grounds and get results etc. they were just damn lucky, if the opponent has 40 shots and not one in the net then that's luck that the opposition can't finish.

this is a team that's spent quite a bit of money on their premier league squad - not a 7th division team!

all the praise for city, i don't get it.

Managing that club is basically the same as someone who cheats on football manager and gives themselves a budget which no one else can possibly compete with. The fact they are only 1 point ahead of Arsenal who have spent peanuts puts things in perspective imo.

What's telling this season is not only have Kolarov, Garcia, Nasri and Dzeko improved Negredo seems the polar opposite of Balotelli and Tevez, could you see those 2 going over to celebrate with the fans in the pissing rain after not even getting on the pitch? still have Chelsea as slight favorites as City still have to go to the Emirates, Klanfield, Old Trafford and come to us.

Utter codswallop. Chelsea have spent millions as have United, I'd have loved the sheikh to have bought us.

How is it codswallop ? They have the highest net spend in the 20+ year history of the premier league and 95% of that is from the money they have spent since they been have taken over. If that doesn't put things into perspective for you then nothing will.

United is a terrible example because they became successful the proper way, the core of their team was made up of homegrown talent brought through the ranks. yes they spent big money as well but they combined that with great homegrown talent to build a side which dominated for years. Thats how you do things and it deserves respect.

City have literally gone from a nothing club to title winners in next to no time due to over £2.2 BILLION being invested in the club (clear debt, transfers, wages etc) since they were taken over. No players whatsoever come through the ranks, they are a graveyard for young players. They are the model of everything thats wrong with the game. Chelsea as well, although to a lesser extent.

Thiago scored this in the last minute to win Bayern the game.

wow brilliant finish.

Bayern got bloody lucky tonight. Thought I'd watch it so the City result went the way I wanted it to.

Chelsea 39 shots on goals, West Ham with 1 (one) - hashtag Fat Sam.

39 shots, but not all on goal mate. Only 9 of them were on target. 30 attempts not even testing the goalkeeper is terrible for a professional football club.
