A man is in a critical condition in a Stoke hospital after an incident during the Rovers fixture at the Britannia Stadium this afternoon.
The man was among a 1300-strong Rovers following in the South Stand, occupied by visiting supporters.
Chief Inspector Adrian Roberts of the Staffordshire Police said: "We are carrying out a full investigation of the incident to ascertain precisely what happened.
"The man was taken from the ground in an unconscious state and is in a critical condition at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire."
