I have fantastic memories of that game. I was with my two little nephews and they were wearing the Everton shirts I got them for Christmas that they had literally just opened. We had just finished opening gifts at my parents, and we could only watch like the last 20 minutes of the game. When that goal went in we went berserk. It was moment where sports and family really came together. Hopefully they remember that goal for a long time. I know I will.

Agree on this. Perhaps its cos we have offered them handsome wages as well which are way over the top for what they deserve. Take Niasse 55k a week for example. A guy comes from Russian league, relatively unknown so should have been taking no more than 35k/week max.

Interesting fact about that game.

It was played on Boxing Day 2015 and we only won 4 more league games under Martinez after it.

Yeah, thats the problem with free transfers, you end up offering crazy wages to convince them to sign.

Niasse, Cleverley and Mcgeady on around 180k a week between them.

£9.36m a year to pay wages for those 3.
 
not sure how he can be rated as £2m less than niasse tbh. but £8m is probably fair .... then i look at the other prices spurs and RS have got for players that have featured far less prominently than cleverley and i don't think it's fair, especially with financial increases.
