Not abusing him at all ffs. It's the Tom Davies thread and rather than some utter weirdos who seem totally incapable of seeing the dirge he serves up week after week.
Didnt you refer to him as "utter dog turd" a few posts ago. Thats quite abusive IMO. Such hate, it will only lead you to the dark side

It was a bad day at the office for Tom Davies against Leicester City; these things happen to all players. But in reality, the game could have, and should have, been put to bed long before their equaliser. That in no way excuses Tom Davies, but once again we've paid the price for not being able to fully capitalise on our good spells during a game.

Had a terrible game yesterday, wasn't great last week either. Has put in a few really good performances this season though, so I wouldn't say all hope is lost with him. I don't think he was helped by being the only natural centre mid in the whole team for seventy odd minutes, although that's nobody's fault really.

*one good performance

In a nutshell spot on mate. We had a great 10-15 minute spell 2nd half, completely dominating them, had 2 great header chances (2nd one Richarlison really should have buried) Holgate should have done better worh his chance, Sidibe put in about 3 great balls with no one on the end of any of them.

Score then and its game over imo.

Davies was awful 2nd half no doubt about it, needed to be hooked around 65 minutes. But let's get it straight here, he had Gylfi next to him who done absolutely nothing of note in midfield so was basicslly there just to make up the numbers.

Silva said Davies has had a knee injury so maybe that had an affect. Either way he'll be needed again Wednesday and i don't think he will be hiding from his responsibilities and will know he let us down with a few real sloppy moments yesterday.

I also kind of recall Dominic Calvert-Lewin having the opportunity to play in Sigurdsson who was free on the left in the Leicester area, and I think he tried to take in on himself instead.

No doubt Davies will have beat himself up for his part in how the game went, but he'll be back in the zone and fully focused on the job that needs to be done on Wednesday. Which is something I'd expect from every player to be fair. I didn't realise that he had taken a knock on the knee though.

Struts around like he’s already made it with his cringey mop head. The utter bell end.

Well guess what Tom? You haven’t made it. You’re complete and utter gash.

Lad you’re awful. AWFUL!!! Do us all a favour and never play for us again. Yeah?

You’re not good enough. You’re a joke.

There is nothing positive about Tom Davies.

Yeah Silva said he done it on International duty, had to cut his training down before Norwich, flared up at end of Norwich game, didn't train much at the start of last week.

I'm not defending him either, he'll know he really screwed up for both goals yesterday but he won't shirk his responsibility. Like others have said, if Gomes, Gbamin or Delph are fully fit then Davies is probably 4th or 5th choice.

I know a lot of players were expected to play through their injuries, depending on what it was of course. They'd just get given pain killing injections and sent out. Not sure if that's still the case in this day and age.

Yes, if we had a fully fit midfield, I'd doubt Davies would be anywhere near it, to be honest. This such a good opportunity for him to grab his chance and make his mark. There are some telling games coming up, so it will be interesting to see just who in the team is up for the challenge and steps up to the mark.

He was playing in a midfield 2 with Sigurdsson. Otherwise known as a midfield 1. He didn't have his best game, but bloody hell. Gylfi the ghost was captain and supposedly the experienced partner along side him. We were basically playing with 10 men, and still Davies is the whipping boy.

Unreal.

The midfield has often been our biggest weakness under Silva because we are always so unbalanced and it's often a random selection of individuals with no defined roles.

We suffered last year because Gylfi the ghost hid up front and Gana chased the ball around the entire pitch, often leaving 1 exposed CM.

This season we started with 2 crabs in Delph and Schneiderlin, making 2 yard passes back and forth while Gylfi continued to hide, leaving no option to play from deep.

My brother pointed out yesterday we hardly ever have anyone run at a defence and put a team on the back foot. We haven't had a centre mid do this since Barkley. His "replacement", the so called play maker, Sigurdsson, often takes fewer touches per game than Barkley did in 1 transition.

Iwobi is probably the only player who we have who can do it and he often seems to be the fall guy while Sigurdsson stays on the pitch.

Take the ghost out of the team, start playing again with 11 players, and we will be better for it.

Davies, despite not having a great game, is not the problem.

For what it's worth, I'd be looking at bringing Liam Walsh back.
